A solitary artist (23) tries to maintain the meditative presence she experiences when she is alone during a rare weekend with family, while her family clearly expects something different from her.

In my graduation film "Het Nu," I tell the story of Roos, who loses her connection with her parents and family due to excessive introspection. I found it interesting to explore the downside of introspection in the form of mindfulness and meditation. When does this seemingly miraculous remedy cease to be a solution and become a problem instead? I personally feel that my introspection can sometimes go too far, causing me to close myself off from the outside world because I am too much in my own head. In "Het Nu," I juxtapose moments of peace and tranquility through silence and solitude with moments of togetherness with others, questioning relationships and introspection.
